Wander Through the Lanes

Nestled between North Laine and the seafront, The Lanes are a maze of independent retailers, antique shops, quirky cafes and cool little nooks, ideal for wandering and enjoying the real soul of the city. And with parts of The Lanes dating back to the late 16th century, there’s plenty of history to be admired too. Some of the alleyways - or twittens as they’re locally known - have an even older and mysterious charm to them. The Cricketers Arms and Black Lion Street were built around 1545 and is rumoured to be the oldest pub in the area.
