Bristol International Balloon Fiesta

Ready to take to the skies? Bristol’s International Balloon Fiesta is Europe’s largest Ballooning event and takes place every summer right here in our city, and this year the four days of family fun will be from 10th to 13th August. With events taking place all day, here’s the low-down of what to expect:

• Morning Ascents: Set your alarm early for the most magical start to the hot air balloon Fiesta, with lifts starting as early as 6am, offering unbelievable sunrise views over the city and beyond.
• A Whole Day of Entertainment: This year’s fiesta is jam-packed with activities for the whole family to enjoy. Head down to the Brizzle Kicks area for children’s entertainment, the bandstand for live music and the Costa POD for a full programme of activities, talks and performances. There’s also hundreds of traders and an arena of entertainment all day long. At 6pm, you can take part in the afternoon ascent. 
• Evening Nightglows: The most iconic part of the event, the Nightglow takes place on Thursday and Saturday nights, as soon as the teams arrive back from the afternoon ascent. Be ready for collection at 9pm as 25 balloons tether and light up in time to a very special soundtrack provided by the team at BBC Radio Bristol.
