Clifton Suspension Bridge

Another token of history to be enjoyed here in Bristol, Clifton Suspension Bridge was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and marks one of the most memorable turning points in the history of engineering, and has come to symbolise a city of original thinkers and independent spirit. Open all day every day, with a £1 toll for cars to pass through, the Clifton Suspension Bridge is an enjoyable walk, with sites to see and history to be marvelled.

Fancy a tour? Between Easter and October their much-loved Hard Hat tours offer a rare opportunity to go behind-the-scenes and explore Brunel’s hidden chambers. Over the weekend there are a selection of free weekend tours run throughout the year and are a fantastic way to explore the history of this amazing structure.
