The perfect Dorset and Hampshire meeting and events venue: this character-filled, Georgian boutique hotel, close to Christchurch town centre, has 3 unique event rooms - and a bowling green - suitable for any conference, meeting or event need up to 120 attendees.
Meetings & private events work so much better in great venues, in great locations. Blending traditional character with contemporary design, and restored to its original Georgian style with period features, this character-filled boutique hotel faces out onto a postcard-perfect setting, including a lawn bowling green, the River Avon and the Norman-era ruins towards the 18th Century priory.
The hotel has three exceptional, flexible spaces to choose from, listed below, that can accommodate almost any meeting or event up to 120 attendees. The bowling green may also be used for certain events. Our events team also specialises in brilliant team building activities: ‘Catch it, Cook it, Eat it’ fishing trips, cocktail masterclasses, wine tasting challenges, ‘cookathons’, bowling challenges, giant games on the lawn, and kayaking (to name a few).
For exceptional eating and drinking during your event, our passionate chefs have prepared a selection of appetising menus - we call it ‘brain food’ – anything from tea & cakes to set menus and platter-style, banquet feasts. And to take the stress out of organisation, and to ensure your event will run smoothly, we’ll provide you with the services of a dedicated event coordinator.
For before and after your event, we can offer discounted room rates for those wishing to stay, drinking and dining at the award-winning, in-house ‘The Kings Arms Restaurant’ or the ever-popular, lively Kings Bar, and a selection of great, locally-themed activities and experiences.
The hotel is perfectly positioned close to the historic town centre, a few minutes’ walk from Christchurch Quay (via a rather lovely riverside walk), and a few minutes’ drive from the local beaches. For those wanting to explore further afield, the hotel is also an ideal base for exploring the picturesque Dorset coast, including the fossil-rich Jurassic Coast, and the many trails and quaint villages of the surrounding New Forest – by bike, on foot or even on horseback. See our staff’s recommendations of the best activities, attractions & events in the Christchurch and wider Hampshire and Dorset area here.
The hotel is readily accessible; it’s just 2 hours by train from London, or 15 minutes’ or 35 minutes’ drive from Bournemouth and Southampton airports respectively. Attendees can pre-book parking (with the hotel) in the nearby civic offices for £6 per day, or find other local parking nearby.
All of our hotels are accessible, and help is always on hand for those who need assistance.
Here at Harbour Hotels, we understand that exceptional food & drink can enliven even the most arduous meeting or event; indeed, good ‘brain food’, as we call it, can boost your meeting’s productivity, and do wonders for your attendees’ event experience (and return rate).
Our passionate chefs have created a number of different menu options for you to select from. You may create your own bespoke set menu, opt for one of our fixed-priced, set menus, or even choose our ever-popular ‘Bring me Food’ menu, with dishes delivered platter-style for communal feasting.
Recently restored in a beautiful New England-style, this impressive space features views over the bowling green, River Avon and atmospheric castle ruins. It’s ideally suited to conferences, receptions and larger meetings, dinners, and workshops.
Our newly-refurbished Kings Priory space also comes with views over the bowling green, River Avon and atmospheric castle ruins. It’s ideally suited to conferences, receptions and larger meetings, dinners, and workshops.
The hotel’s private dining area can host up to 36 people, ideal for smaller private dinners. Choose between three menu options: the banquet-style ‘Bring Me Food’ menu, a ‘3,3,3’ set menu (3-courses, 3 choices for each course), or a 5-course tasting menu with optional wine pairings.
This unique outdoor space – an authentic lawn bowling green opposite the hotel, bordered by the River Avon on one side, castle ruins on the other – can host events of to 120 guests. Ideal for receptions, team-building exercises, or even a BBQ.
