Our Commitment
Described by The Mail on Sunday as a “jewel on the Dorset coastline”, The Kings Arms boutique hotel offers a relaxed, gourmet stay in the heart of historic Christchurch, on the spectacular Dorset coast.
Blending traditional character with contemporary design, and restored to its original Georgian style with period features, the hotel has 20 luxury rooms, many with views out over the bowling green, Stour River and the Norman-era ruins towards the 18th Century priory.
For foodies, an award-wining in-house Jetty restaurant serves dishes that utilise only locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients to showcase the region’s finest flavours. For drinkers, The Bar has custom cocktails, and a house DJs spinning on Friday and Saturday nights. The hotel has no spa, but guests have complimentary use the luxury spa and gym of the Christchurch Harbour Hotel (30 min walk/5 min drive).
The hotel is perfectly positioned close to the historic town centre, a few minutes’ walk from Christchurch Quay (via a rather lovely riverside walk), and a few minutes’ drive from the local beaches.
For those wanting to explore further afield, the hotel is also an ideal base for exploring the picturesque Dorset coast, including the fossil-rich Jurassic Coast, and the many trails and quaint villages of the surrounding New Forest – by bike, on foot or even on horseback. See our staff’s recommendations of the best activities, attractions & events in Christchurch and the wider Dorset and Hampshire area here. On request, the hotel can prepare you a sumptuous picnic to take with you, or arrange bike hire.
The hotel is just 2 hours by train from London Waterloo. Christchurch station is then a 5-minute taxi ride. Bournemouth Airport (15 mins by car) and Southampton Airport (35 mins by car / 30 mins train to Christchurch train station) also close by. All guests are guaranteed a free car park space.
All of our hotels are accessible, and help is always on hand for those who need assistance. Families are welcome.
Snuggle down in uber-soft sheets. Wake up to tea & coffee and slippers. Freshen-up with White Company toiletries. Standard in all rooms.
