The New Kings Christchurch

Missing no more!

The place to gather and socialize, to relax, eat and drink in Christchurch. All hail the new Kings!

February 2020

You may have noticed the recent buzz around what’s missing in Christchurch – a cheeky marketing campaign, in true Kings style, the restaurant has now revealed its new look and dining concept; with everything the town’s missing under one roof!

Having spent the best part of £1M on the refurbishment, on 6th March 2020, The Kings Arms will be throwing open the doors to its brand new restaurant concept; to be known simply as ‘The Kings’. With a complete makeover, the classic bar and restaurant has been transformed into a great new space.

An extensive refurbishment to the entire ground-floor has left The Kings completely restyled, to become a relaxed, free-flowing restaurant, bar and lounge. Featuring a vibrant new design, alongside comfortable furnishings and eclectic artwork, guests are welcome to dine, drink and relax anywhere they please.

The main restaurant now features a window looking into the newly refurbished kitchen, allowing diners to watch the chefs at work. With a specialised stone baked oven for pizzas, flat breads and slow cooked dishes, the menus will feature a great selection of new dishes, all with that local twist from Chef Patron Alex Aitken. Featuring a number of Kings classics, alongside new creations – yes, his famous Twice Baked Cheese Soufflé will still be a main stay on the menu!

Working with great local suppliers, Alex and the team consistently deliver menus that showcase the best local produce – from breakfast through to late night drinks, morning pastries to superb new lunch dishes – the emphasis is on feeling comfortable. Dinner is both relaxed and indulgent, with dishes like S. Alex will still be running his cookery show and monthly Supper Club, with recipes to take home and wine suggestions. Look out for his regular special events and one-off nights too!

From great coffee and cake, to Afternoon Tea with flair, stone baked pizzas & flat breads, or one of Alex's famous Mini Gastro dining experiences, it’s an all-day affair – come anytime, for anything. Shining a light on local spirits, wines and beers, guests can also expect a fantastic drinks menu; including exciting new cocktails, alongside signature serves.

It's what Christchurch has been missing. #AllHailtheNewKings!
