Hengistbury Head is one of the most important places here on the south coast of England, as it is home to a plethora of nationally and internationally significant archaeological sites, with features dating from the Late Upper Palaeolithic to the Roman settlement of Britain. While there is so much history to be uncovered, Hengistbury Head boasts some of the most spectacular walking routes in the area, with panoramic views of the nature reserve, Christchurch Harbour (where you’ll spot us!), Bournemouth Bay and all across to the Isle of Wight. There are so many habitats to be enjoyed including heathland, grassland, scrub, woodland, freshwater wetland and of course, coastland.
