Visit the New Forest

Boasting vast open heathlands, stunning woodlands, quaint villages, large forests and its very own coastline, the New Forest is only a short drive from us with a whole host of beauty, history, wildlife, foodie greatness and more to be uncovered. Now, there really is a lot to see and do in the New Forest, but here’s a few of our favourite villages and places to see…

A charming and traditional New Forest village, Burley has been untouched by time. Surrounded by vast open heathlands on either side with New Forest ponies, donkeys and cattle roaming freely, the village has a handful of independent shops and cafes serving up sweet treats and afternoon tea, and it even has its very own cider farm. It’s also worth mentioning that Burley is famous for its history, from the original home of witches to a rumoured dragon lair and being a haunt for smugglers.

Known as the capital of the New Forest since William the Conqueror established it as a royal hunting ground in 1079. Lyndhurst has been visited by kings and queens staying at the Royal Manor throughout the centuries. There’s plenty of walks to be enjoyed here, our recommendation would be Bolton’s Bench which is also a perfect place to enjoy a picnic and watch the New Forest ponies and animals graze happily.
