For those seeking that idyllic coastal getaway, this luxury hotel and spa, fully renovated in 2017, sits right on the water’s edge of the tranquil, picturesque Christchurch Harbour. Many of the 67 luxury rooms offer spectacular views across the harbour to Hengistbury Head.
HarSPA, the in-house luxury spa & gym, includes an indoor swimming pool, steam room, sauna and salt room and a well-equipped gym. The spa offers top-of-the-range ESPA and HarSPA treatments as well as a selection of membership options.
The hotel has two excellent in-house restaurants. The Upper Deck, within the hotel itself, serves expertly-cooked traditional favourites opening up onto a breath-taking alfresco terrace overlooking the water. The multi-award-winning Jetty restaurant, perched on the water’s edge in the hotel grounds, serves same-day, locally caught seafood paired with seasonal ingredients from the New Forest for those wanting to taste the region’s finest flavours.
For those wanting to get out and get active, the hotel has kayaks and paddleboards which can be used from the hotel gardens directly into the harbour. The sands of Avon Beach and quaint Mudeford Quay (with brilliant crabbing for the kids) are a 3-minute walk. Historic Christchurch, a traditional English town dating back to the 7th Century and boasting a 10th Century priory, is a 5-minute drive by car.
Further afield, the hotel is ideally positioned for exploring the picturesque Dorset coast, including the majestic, fossil-rich Jurassic Coast and the many trails and quaint villages of the surrounding New Forest – by bike, on foot or even on horseback. See our staff’s recommendations of the best activities, attractions & events in Christchurch and around the wider Dorset area here. On request, the hotel can prepare you a sumptuous picnic to take with you, or arrange bike hire.
The hotel is just 2 hours by train from London Waterloo. Christchurch station is then a 5-minute taxi ride. Bournemouth Airport (15 mins by car) and Southampton Airport (35 mins by car / 30 mins train to Christchurch train station) are also close by.
All of our hotels are accessible, and help is always on hand for those who need assistance. Families are welcome.
